Let members pick their own roles by reacting to a message — notification roles, interests, pronouns or either-or choices — with no commands.
Each rule pairs an emoji on a message with a role. Members react to get it and remove the reaction to give it back.
Add a second role, or remove other roles in the same rule, for region, team or colour choices where only one applies (Premium and above).
Use your own announcement or rules message. The bot never edits it or adds reactions itself.
Rules beyond your plan's limit pause instead of failing, and resume on their own when you upgrade.
Open Reaction Roles in the dashboard and paste the message link.
Pick an emoji and the role it should give.
Save, then react to the message with the same emoji so members can click it.

No. After saving a rule, react to the message yourself with the same emoji. Your own reaction counts, so you get the role too.
